This February on the Oregon coast there’s a convention that’s exciting for both pool toys and furries!
Get Out the Float (GOTF) is a small convention holding its second convention at the Seaside Civic and Convention Center (SCCC) in Seaside, Oregon on February 6-9, 2025.
Various fun events include bouncy castles, dances, fursuit carousel, fursuit games, panels, fursuit parade, Pool Toy Party chill space hosted by Phenod Toy, and laser tag.
The fursuit parade, assuming the weather is nice, leads up the street to the beach, then along the boardwalk, and returning through downtown Seaside. (The GOTF 2024 had mostly sunny and dry conditions for the parade.)
Bearly Furcasting featuring Taebyn will be having a live podcast recording with fun trivia, chats, and jokes.
The pool swim with the inflatable pool toys at the nearby indoor pool is on Sunday, February 9, which the convention center will be closed during the pool time.
There will be a charity raffle with the drawings during closing ceremonies on Saturday, February 8. All raffle and donation proceeds go to the Sunset Empire Parks and Recreation Foundation (also visit the site if you’d like to know the current pool temperature!).
Hotels are independent of the convention center. Three nearby hotels are offering discounted convention rates with a promo code, making several nights’ stay affordable.
As I said earlier, GOTF is a small convention. The attendance was 149 for GOTF 2024, which some may personally find a bit easier to manage than a large or mega convention.
Get Out The Float is for all ages, however some events are restricted to ages 18 and older.
There’s plenty more information on the website getoutthefloat.com. I hope to see you there in February!
