After 8 years of volunteer service with now Get Out The Float (GOTF), Darkk Dragon is retiring.

“Condolences! You’ve been retired!” GOTF founder Baphnedia wrote in the “Retirement Notice for Darkk Dragon” in a lighthearted tease in a post that went live on Saturday morning.

Darkk has been involved with the group since its founding days over 8 years ago when it started out with a group of friends at a hotel. The events grew into an annual fur meet at Evergreen Aviation Museum as “The Pool Party,” to today’s Get Out The Float fur meet at Seaside Convention Center (GOTF 2024 on Feb. 2-4, 2024, is a convention).

I’ve had the pleasure to know Darkk since my first Pool Party event in 2016. He was a kind and professional person to work with at times when I volunteered for The Pool Party and Get Out The Float. A face and character who we will miss.

Darkk, I want to say thank you for your hard work and dedication for making Get Out The Float where it is today. We will miss you and hope you can swing by sometime in the future. Best of luck on your new chapter in your journey.
