That a wrap for the first Get Out The Float (GOTF) convention, a furry and inflatable convention on the Oregon coast.

On the weekend of February 2-4, 2024, furries and inflatable aficionados met up at the Seaside Civic & Convention Center in Seaside, Oregon, for a weekend of entertainment and shenanigans.

Entertainment and shenanigans included bounce houses and structures, inflatable pool toys, dances with live DJs, story telling and podcast panels, art and other craft dealers, an inflatable lounge, laser tag, carousel rides, swimming with pool toys, and fursuit parade.

Partly cloudy skies and dry conditions made the conditions pleasant for the fursuit parade on Saturday.

53 fursuiters marched along the boardwalk with a stop at the “turnaround” for a group photo. Seaside Public Service crew joined in on the fun by trying to capture the fursuit “animals” with a net.

The parade continued down Broadway Street and into the Carousel Mall. The fursuiters then hopped on the carousel for a ride and some photos.

Per GOTF, 149 attendees registered, which includes staff, vendors, performers, and volunteers.

GOTF raised $2,350.16 for Sunset Parks and Recreation Foundation, which facilitated the swimming pool for the event.

The 2024 event is the first Get Out The Float event as a convention.

Past GOTF meets (formerly The Pool Party) have been meetup events held in Seaside, Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville, and in various venues in the Portland area.

The next Get Out The Float convention is in Seaside, Ore., on February 6-9, 2025.

Note: Shutter Wolf photos of GOTF 2024 will be available shortly. Photos by other photographers of the GOTF 2024 can be found on Furtrack event GOTF 2024.
